Our thinking steers our action but often we are unconscious of our thinking. It is easy to have self-sabotaging thoughts or traumatic scenes repeatedly run through our head and as we are so practised in them the connection in our brain just gets stronger over time. In sessions, we deal with both the conscious and unconscious mind. Below are some of the techniques for accessing the unconscious.

Techniques

To make more dramatic and quick changes, it is great to bring the conscious and                               unconscious mind into alignment. When our unconscious makes a belief                                             it is to protect us. However,                              this view  may be limiting in life and difficult to consciously act                                                                        against.

The work I do                                                                            with clients highlights                           subconscious beliefs and replaces them with supportive beliefs that                                                                                  allow them to achieve                         their desired life aspirations. However, it also helps to

have                                                                                                 conscious                                           practices to allow the whole of a person to be met.

Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT) 

 

EFT is a form of counseling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine, including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy.

This technique is effective with mental blocks, emotional issues and physical symptoms. Over the years, there has been a growing awareness of how our thoughts influence our behaviours. Whether a mild physical symptom, chronic pain or a diagnosed condition, there is an associated emotional issue underlying them all.

In the past, we have not had the tools to find the unconscious issue. However, now we have several ways of accessing this. In EFT, the premise is that any area of your life needing improvement originated from a limiting emotion. EFT has a long and impressive history of resolving physical and emotional health issues.

Matrix Re-imprinting

This technique is derived from EFT but enables a person to find their limiting beliefs very quickly and transform these beliefs to empower them to be the best version of themselves.

Matrix allows your mind to find the unconscious belief attached to a memory that is restricting your life in some way. So rather than just taking away the negative emotion of a memory, Matrix finds the limiting belief and the person replaces this with a belief the person finds more enabling.

What you are then left with is the ability to recall your most traumatic and stressful life memories without any emotional disruption or stress, which is extremely useful, as negative memories keep the body in a state of stress and can contribute to disease.

The unconscious, by contrast, is not like this at all. It works only in the present. It has every moment in its present. However, it cannot discern when something is present, past or future. So we need beliefs laid down in the past to suit the present and future.
